Alma San Pier Maggiore — Soul of the Renaissance

This is where the church of San Pier Maggiore stood until 1784. A two-year restoration completed in 2023 brought back fragments of frescoes, timber ceilings, the original stone vault over the kitchen and a sixteenth-century arch bearing old coats of arms. Furniture comes from leading Italian design houses, and scene lighting guides you through the rooms. Three double bedrooms and three bathrooms sleep up to six; the new, fully equipped kitchen opens onto an open-air inner courtyard. Ducted air conditioning with separate zones, underfloor heating, a 65-inch TV and a washing machine. Santa Croce is three minutes on foot, the Duomo five.
